90 Points

Thursday, October 18, 2012 - This rose was a little bit tight after the first several sips and seemed a little bit out of balance. However, with more time in the glass everything eventually started to come together. The Laurant-Perrier has very deep fruit flavors that lean much more in the direction of cherries, rather than strawberries or raspberries. In fact, this probably has more fresh cherry flavors than any other rose champagne that I have tasted. The overall quality of this rose is also very good. However, at the $60 to $70 price point, there are so many other fabulous roses on the market that it makes it very hard for Laurant-Perrier to compete. For example, the similarly priced Pierre Peters Rose Albane blows this out of the water in my view. Nonetheless, everyone's palate is different, and this could have lots of appeal to someone who loves cherry flavors in their rose.
