Monday, January 1, 2018 - Celebratory toast to the new year. This bottle was one that we brought back from our Reims visit in the Fall of 2016. It has no importer info on the back label as it is meant only for domestic consumption within France.
PnP. The red fruit aromas and flavors were more muted than expected, and there was a touch of yeastiness on the palate. The mousse was fine and lively, and the acidity was spot on. This is one of our favorite champagnes, and our absolute favorite rose.
Is it possible that the assemblage for domestic consumption differs from that for export?? Or was this bottle simply showing some age?? I would love to know how to determine the disgorgement dates of these champagnes.
