Sunday, February 27, 2011 - Popped and poured. Haystack straw yellow-gold in the glass. Pineapple, flower notes, and a wet stone nose. Full bodied with a lanolin mouth feel. Thick without being heavy. White stone fruits, light honey flavor, some pineapple/tropical fruit notes, a mineral/stony streak and good acidity. Pleasant finish where the minerality comes through. This is pretty full throttle and will be better with some time in the bottle. California meets white Hermitage. Not a wine for everyone, but I like it.
