Tuesday, November 1, 2011 - 69% Roussanne and 31% Viognier.......this shows a little more heat than I remember last? Might be my palate tonight. Rich and fresh pit fruit(apricot, peach, nectarine) as well as some baked apple and pear. Has beautiful florals of honeysuckle and jasmine...and drips with wild honey butter, smoked marshmallow, and some toasted hazelnut. Plenty of crisp orange citrus acidity to lift the rich fruit...but there is a sharpness to it, as well as that alc heat. Not the "perfect" balance that you expect from SQN. Again, might just be my palate at this given time....I do love the flavors...just not up to standard for me. I think some Chardonnay in the blend would have helped tone down some of the sharpness.....glad to see MK going back to it!
