Saturday, February 2, 2013 - Johnny brought this to Devon for dinner with Dana for Restaurant Week.
Second time trying this wine in the last year and I must be honest, this did not perform nearly as well as the last time around.
The nose wasn't nearly as pronounced as last time around. Some nice underlying earth and honeyed apple and pear. Spice on the nose as well. Different and not your typical fruit forward wine.
Palate brought more to the table. More of that dark roasted nuts and apples with vanilla and some sweet cinnamon and nutmeg baking spice. Long finish. Low acidity and high alcohol. Rich and thick. Nice but not up to par.
