Saturday, March 25, 2006 - Aerated for 1 hour. Still pushy, dark fruit, blueberry notes force themselves against the spicy, mouth coating tannins. Fades to mocha. I think this is the best bottling to date age-ing wise, this really needs to sit for at least a few years. Compelling to drink now, like that 2002 Marquis Phillips #9, but when you opened the last bottle in your case in 2006 you realize how much of a jackas you are. Warning - this is not a food wine it is a stand alone showcase wine at this point. Cellaring will soften it up, but remember this is hardy stuff, not for the faint of heart. At 37 bucks a bottle, buy it all and forget about it for, uh, a few days.....
