Saturday, April 18, 2020 - My first Laherte Freres bottle was the 2015 Blanc de Blancs Extra Brut Les Grand Crayeres, which while young was fabulous. Guess I’m working backwards. This wine has fine beads and a generous creamy mousse, with light yellow color and a greenish tinge. Crisp green apple, honeydew melon, Meyer lemon, and some slate minerality. Just a touch of brioche on the front end. The wine is expansive on the palate, with generous fruit notes as before and tangy acidity. Lovely bottle, and can’t wait to try some of the other Laherte Freres wines.
