Friday, July 23, 2021 - A lost Friday afternoon gathering – Champagne and Burgundy (Blacksalt, Washington DC): I have not had this wine for over ten years and this has developed beautifully. Expressive nose displaying perfectly ripe yellow fruit, peach, apple, orange blossom, light crème, honey, lanolin, sweet spices and mineral. Perfectly integrated palate, layers upon layers of opulent yellow fruit, incredibly rich yet airy and fluid, perfect amount of acidity and mineral, and a seamless long ripe yellow fruit driven finish with a hint of crème brulee at the end. Absolutely delicious yet noble in very Batard way. A great example of Batard.
