Thursday, August 25, 2011 - Nice Burgundian-style, smells of red berries and wonderful black cherry flavors with not-so-subtle toasty oak. A nice difference from the norm, low alcohol content (12.5%), has long-lasting European sense, but with outstanding California fruit notes. Not for everyone, but for those with a preference for slightly aged, more subtle Pinot flavor. Good, silky mouth feel. Has demolished other Pinots near its price point on a few at-home blind tastings with visiting family. The over-done oak is my primary complaint, but at $12/bottle this is a great QPR with well-cared for estate winery sense. Much better than any $12 Pinot you'll get at the grocery store and a good wine to try something different.
