Saturday, January 23, 2021 - This opened very well with a rich crimson red robe of colour and a nose of rich blackcurrant and blackberry fruit with touches of mint and tobacco. The palate has masses of fresh black fruits leading into a combination of fine tannins, tobacco and vanilla oak that is quite distinctively Penfolds. A very tempting and interesting glass of wine in an old fashioned South Australian style. The vigour of the fruit was quite remarkable.
