Sunday, November 12, 2017 - 2017 Villa d’Este Wine Symposium - Kelly and Kevin's excellent adventure; 11/9/2017-11/14/2017 (Villa D’este, Lake Como and Milan): Initially a bit murky after traveling for a few days. With an hour of air, expressive nose displaying raspberry and blackberry jelly, a hint of black cherry, bacon fat, licorice, garrigue and black pepper. Fully integrated yet youthful palate, very finely layered sweet black fruit, silky and polished, perfect amount of acidity and earthy mineral, and a seamless finish with blackberry and bacon fat at the end. This is a classic mature La La that is drinking beautifully. Considering the current prices of the 78s and the 85s, perhaps the wine to seek.
