Monday, April 3, 2017 - I had ordered this from RWC awhile ago and it got tied up in storage. Based on the earlier tasting notes, I didn't hold out high hopes but you have to drink your supply, right? I found the wine to very good bordering on excellent. The color alone was worth it- a sparkling ruby, definitely beautiful red and no purple in sight. While the nose wasn't a knockout, some solid burgundy notes with dirt and even mushrooms. While the tannins have settled down, decent acid and wonderful cherry flavors with a sour note. While I suspect most of this is long gone, it's a good sign for other Boillot Village wines.
