94 Points

Saturday, January 14, 2006 - Quilceda Creek 1996-2002 vertical (Chicago suburbs): Now we're talking. Violets and concentrated dark red cherry. Started soft but gained depth. Really started to kick in by the end of the night. Our host was kind enough to let me take home the bottle with maybe 6 ounces in it. It was holding strong and better in some ways the next day. Great length with layers of dark red fruits.

On the day of our dinner, I poured into the decanter about 1:30 pm and gave it an hour. I poured it back into the bottle and left it uncorked for another 2 hours. Recorked the bottle and left for dinner. Took the cork out around 6:30. We started pouring these around 8:30 or so? Could have used more air time. Great upside potential.
