Sunday, June 12, 2011 - 1990 Californian Wines & Quilceda Creek (Ruths Chris - Washington, DC): Put this into a carafe to let it breath. The nose didn't really offer up much even after 90 minutes in the decanter. The palate took some time to open up too eventually showing black fruit, warm spices, and lilacs. Hard wine for me to judge as it didn't show all that much at dinner. Should be noted that this bottle traveled from Los Angeles to Washington, D.C. a couple days before the dinner so I'm wondering if this was experiencing some sort of travel shock...
