Tasted non blind. Opened and decanted two hours before serving. Followed over about four hours.

Dark garnet color in the glass, clear looking throughout. Nose of melted black licorice, white pepper, cassis, plum and violets. Flavors of black berries, black cherries and plums. Medium to bright acidity, firm tannin, full bodied. Drink now with air or continue to hold.

It had a huge fruit filled nose when first opened. Decanted at two hours it took on nice aged Bordeaux like aromas. Even at three hours tannin was still firm. So a delicate balance here. Whether to continue holding or drink now with a decant. I'm leaning towards extending out my remaining four bottles one to two years year longer than they are currently scheduled.

Note there was some sediment upon decanting.

McClure Christmas Party.
