Saturday, January 30, 2021 - From magnum. Right ruby-garnet with a bit of sediment throughout despite a careful pour. Piercing and delicious nose of fruit punch and powdered sugar-covered beignets on the nose. Mixed raspberries and blackberries, quite sweet, with strong but smooth tannins and aggressive acids. Though one taster complained it tasted like a zinfandel port, I thought it was more like Caymus made for whatever group comes in second to the masses. Good, and we’ll-made, but it lacks the nuance that earlier vintages evinced.
