Saturday, April 10, 2021 - Crimson in color. 14.9% ABV. Gorgeous nose of black fruits, cedar, leather and graphite. Remarkable concentration and power. Perfect balance of fruit, tannins and acid. Blackberry, cassis, currants and tobacco on the palate. Exceptional length on the finish with prominent fine grained tannins. 2001 marked the end era before a noticeable shift in style with the 02 vintage. I’m a fan either way and this bottle showed incredibly well. Drink over the next several years.
