Sunday, April 21, 2024 - Consumed in a 375 mL bottle. Deep purple color. Rich aromas but this was a bit rough to drink. We did not decant it and this could be part of the problem. While it had the typical minerality on the palate that I love with Fonseca, this was less well balanced than the elegant 1994 which I had very recently. Perhaps this needs more time, greater decantation, or is simply different because of extreme weather conditions in 2003.
