Friday, September 25, 2015 - According to the nifty app "When Wine," we're on a flower day that is propitious for consumption of biodynamic wines. So far so good.

I was a little surprised by the darker than expected color and the initially thick and slightly ponderous nose. So I decided to wait for at least an hour before recording additional impressions. This turned out to be a good move. There are deep cherry fruit aromas framed by leathery notes and hints of fennel bulb. Medium bodied with a bold wash across the palate ending in a rich, expansive finish, though slightly hot.

I'm not in love with this, since it's denser and despite the labeled 13.5%, seemingly more alcoholic than I like in a Classico, but it's certainly not hard to drink. And I can't even blame it on a root day.
