Friday, August 23, 2019 - Decanted for 2 hrs and sampled over the course of that time. Opened up dramatically, well worth the wait!

Color: surprisingly vibrant crimson, given the age.
Nose: subdued, get a bit of flint, red meat, cinnamon and cocoa. Very little fruit.
Taste: a timebomb on the palate, witholds at first, then bursts with flavors of dates, black cherry and currant. Loads of great tobacco, black licorice and leather. Overall very delicate and well balanced. Not a heavyweight by any means. Very enjoyable and incredibly easy drinking. Won't get much better than this.
