Monday, June 20, 2011 - Neighbor's summer celebration party. P&P, color not noted. Typical Rhone aromas of strawberry, raspberry, green herb, black pepper, plus mild brett. The palate is harsh and thin with red seed fruits - surprising for a Vieilles Vignes - along with bitter green herb, black pepper, and dry earth. High acid, medium level tannins are tight and a little green, with a short finish. The host of the party who was serving it commented "I don't like this one at all". I agree. RP score was 84-86, and that seems generous.
