Wednesday, May 22, 2013 - Tasted blind in a mixed flight of Tuscans, not decanted. Bright ruby, not much bricking. Being wine #6 of 8, this was the first with a noticeable "funk" or meatiness on the nose. Juicy, sappy red fruit (pie cherry, raspberry). Well-integrated but still present tannins, but lacks expansion or real depth on the palate. Uninteresting and little more than a good, rustic red. Disappointing. This was actually a little better on day 2, with the cork simply reinserted part way.
