Colour is still deep - it has a lovely warm garnet brick red rim. Ripe and rounded nose, with lots of deep dark fruit with a strong Italian smell. On the palate it is still fresh with lots of plum and sour cherry fruit - very mellow soft tannins but still a nice bite of cherry acidity. The finish was very nice - long with that italian plum cherry taste lingering for a long time, with some tobacco notes thrown in for good measure. Delicous - I like the acidiity.

This has less than optimal storage (passive cellar) - but was certainly very drinkable and I would think near peak. Probably will have no trouble keeping for another 2-4 years, but those without perfect storage may want to visit this soon...
