Monday, February 4, 2008 - Popped and poured, stored in 60-degree cellar since release. Still a dark ruby color with minimal lightening at the rim. Muted nose never really opened up. Bright and vibrant, plenty of cherry and cola notes with a smoky overtone. Light to medium bodied, concentration was good without heaviness. Opened up during the first half hour in the glass, getting rounder and more open, then shut down and gripped the tongue. A nice wine with a good future, I would think, but the lack of aroma precludes an outstanding rating. Try again in a few years.
