Saturday, April 4, 2020 - This was a pleasant surprise! Wine is golden yellow, very restrained as I opened it, almost muted. I double decanted it and had it 45 min later, and the aromas had fully blossomed, loads of ripe fruit, banana, lemon pie crust, pine needles, crushed shells, wet cement, and a pleasant hint of matchstick. Big and bold on the palate, not the restrained style of most Chablis, with a broad mid-palate and and beautiful vibrant energy on the finish. I guess this wine reflects the vintage and it's challenges, but it provides a rare, pleasant early drinking opportunity.
