Monday, August 6, 2012 - What a monster of a wine- almost like a bodybuilder:-) this was opened and decanted and poured back in the bottle 4 hours before impact and it was still tight as a baby. The nose was initially very floral with herbes also showing but with time the blackcurrant came through with so much power and heat that the acidity and the tannins really had to be so aggressive as to keep the big big fruit in place. The finish was intense and big with loads of fruit and here the plumb came through big-time. A really nice wine but maybe a bit to heated for my pallet though.
