Tuesday, April 23, 2013 - From a 375, decanted and consumed over 2 hours. Dark nose, heavy in oak with some alcohol. Ripe black- and boysenberry flavors, fruit-dominant, with fine tannins that give a slightly silky mouthfeel and coating. Hints of cough medicine in the finish; better than the notes imply, with the nose falling short on an enjoyable wine. Doesn't need food.
