Monday, December 1, 2014 - Almost completely opaque black cherry color with moderately developed maroon hue. Somewhat restrained and quite juicy, dark-toned nose with aromas of ripe dark fruits, some succulent strawberries, an oaky hint of chocolate and a touch of damp earth. The wine is medium-bodied and quite robust on the palate with savory flavors of tart cranberries, some savory oak spice, a little bit of bittersweet dark chocolate and a hint of sour cherry. The wine appears quite muscular and structured with its high acidity and modest but rather firm tannins. The finish is quite long and spicy with flavors of tart cranberries and lingonberries, sweeter wild cherries, light earthy tones and hints of savory oak spice.

A perfectly decent and surprisingly broad-shouldered Bojo showing the more muscular, darker-toned character of Moulin-à-Vent. Perhaps a bit too heavily oaked, given how the wine still shows quite obvious wood influence at 5 years of age. Overall an enjoyable effort with good power. Perhaps a bit more wood and a bit less complexity than I looked for, but the wine is still performing quite nicely for one from the hot 2009 vintage. Perhaps a bit on the expensive side at 17,49€.
