Sunday, May 8, 2011 - Dark red-purple. Powerful, distinctive nose of black cherry, American oak pickle barrel, celery. Medium-high tannin, medium acidity. A big wine but not in over-fruited gob-smacker territory, there's tons of fruit and structure here, in wonderful harmony, in balance. Huge finish. This Pagani is the best since the '92 (no small feat), and yet it reminds me more of the original '91 bottling that grabbed our attention. Bottle #1 of six.
