Wednesday, November 7, 2018 - 2018 Villa d’Este Wine Symposium – Kelly, RJ, Justin and Kevin's excellent adventure; 11/7/2018-11/11/2018 (Villa D’este, Lake Como): Expressive old school nose displaying concentrated slightly dry cherry fruit, caramel, licorice, rare steak, tobacco, cinnamon and iron mineral. Excellent concentration, packed slightly dry sweet cherry, rich and chewy, balsamico, perfect bright acidity and iron mineral, still noticeable slightly rustic tannins and a long intense dry cherry and licorice driven finish with a hint of iron and dark spices at the end. It remains very youthful and drinking nicely. It is a masculine and rustic wine that is slightly lacking finesse.
