Friday, May 26, 2006 - Had this wine three different times in the past two months. Twice over dinner at Abboccato Restaurant in NYC (including their final bottle), and once at a Daniel Schuster wine tasting event in NYC, which was in a vertical of 2000, 2001 and 2002 Ornellaia. I enjoyed it very much, especially after decanting and consuming with the main course (pork). The last gulp was the best; very complex wine that opens up like a bandit with some air time. I give a slight edge for the 2000 in drinking today, but the 2001 is probably a superior keeper because it seems to have more chapters to tell that haven't come out yet.
