Friday, November 2, 2012 - Medium garnet color. Nose shows some development but the wine is still far from peak. Nose is rather shy and exhibits sweet spice, black berry fruit together earthy and leather tones. Palate is very fine indeed with fine black tea, leather, licorice and wet forest floor flavors along the ripe berry fruit and the Tuscan earthiness. Flavors are expanding, there is tremendous intensity and length on the finish. Very good Ornellaia with aging potential.
