Friday, November 7, 2014 - Bright ruby turning crimson at the rim with an effervescent nose of eucalyptus, currants, dried herbs, tobacco. The palate is full-bodied, boldly-flavored on 14.5% alcohol yet gorgeously silky with bright acidity. Flavors of dark cherry, black currant, licorice, cigar box, espresso, cowhide leather, toffee, and dried oregano form the core. Very balanced, graceful, layered, and elegant. Rivals the 2007, but with more finesse and grace. Has a 1-minute finish on ultra-refined tannins with hints of mint, caramel and vanilla. Beautiful! One of the best from Ornellaia. Drink now with a 15-minute decant until 2021. 97+
