Monday, February 6, 2006 - Deep ruby red. Intense floral nose with blueberry and hints of saddle leather. The wine gets really interesting on the palate. It has a very musky, charcoal taste, which weighs down on the wine. Extremely tannic, as it should be, but also smooth. The weight of the wine on the palate makes you expect a longer finish, so in some ways you end up a bit disappointed despite a respectable 20+ seconds. All of the taste lingered at the top of the mouth. Quite interesting.
