Consumed over 2 days (vacuvined and refrigerated), note from day 2. Appearance: Clear, medium garnet - showing some browning on the rim. Nose: Clean, medium+ intensity, developed aromas of dried cherry, cranberry, pine needles, Asian spice, and forest floor. Palate: Dry, medium acid, medium- tannin, medium+ intensity, flavors of dried cherry, cranberry, and spice with medium+ finish.
Overall a very good Sonoma Pinot drinking well at 11 years of age, perhaps just past peak. Drink now or over the next couple years.

Last bottle. Drinking quite well now. As before, aromas and flavors of red cherry, baking spice and dried flowers. Integrated structural elements. I'd drink these over the next year or two before the delicious fruit fades.

Ed Kurtzman Dinner (Luciana's, Dana Point, CA): Dark raspberry nose. Ripe strawberry and raspberry flavors. Nicely balance fruit and acid. Fine tannins. A touch of candied cherry. I like this wine a lot and there is an amazing consistency between the 2010, 2011, and 2012 vintages.

Ed Kurtzman Comes To Dinner (2015) (Luciana's In Dana Point (South OC)): We tasted the 10-12 wines in the same flight, so we could get some contrast. Of the three, I put the 10 in third place. It does have red apple skin, dark raspberry, zingy acidity and light root beer. The reason I put the wine in third place is that it has a candied quality in the finish. The 12 was better and the 11, that wine is a gem, FWIW.

My last of 4 bottles and each one has put on weight while maintaining the components in the right proportion. Beautifully balanced - you won't mistake it from Burgundy, but twinges of guilt as this Burgophile dines solo and is enjoying it.

Similar notes as with the last bottle. Plush, with spice, charcoal, wet forest floor, cranberry, orange rind, black cherry, and good acid. Sandler wines are good values.
This held up well even on the third day.

This wine is SO very difficult to let sit, as it is delicious young, but I was very pleased to find it in the cellar, and was generously rewarded. What a beautiful, rich, and spicy Pinot. You expect the spiciness from Keefer Ranch, but the added bottle time gives the wine a smoother balance, as it is relatively high abv. Explosive fruit on the forepalate, continues on until the finish, which is just a bit short, and brings forth the alcohol a bit. Regardless, even with a touch of heat, this is a fantastic Pinot - no surprise, coming from Ed Kurtzman, the king of Pinot. Wish I had more!

Very nice RRV pinot and my first taste of the 2010. Lighter ruby red color. Bright red fruits on the nose with light spice from oak. Very nice mouthfeel being fresh without excessive heaviness. Similar tasting profile with sweet red cherry and tart cranberries, cinnamon and cola but restrained. Silky light tannins with nice but acidity. Moderate finish.

This has changed but is just as good as my bottle from ~2 years ago. Definitely a new-world style pinot but has nice flavors & complexity. Aromas and flavors of red cherry, baking spice and dried flowers. Medium acid/tannins/finish. Drinking well now but no rush.

Very fruit-forward, with lots of cherry and cranberry in the foreground. There's a bit of baking spice lurking there, and a fair amount of cherry cola on the mid-palate. Even with a couple hours of air, it's still a bit one-dimensional. On the other hand, it was surprisingly light-bodied. I hesitate to call this feminine or elegant, but it wasn't as syrupy or thick as I expected from the taste. Noticeable heat on the finish, and a couple glasses of this really packs a wallop! Overall, it's a bit too juicy/ripe for my tastes, but RRV pinot fans will probably enjoy this very much.

Tart black cherry, a little cranberry and orange rind, fall spices, earthy wet forest floor, a little birch beer. Soft and silky mouthfeel and then a spicey finish with some fine tannins. Just a hint of alcohol poking through but nothing too objectionable. A nice RRV Pinot that should drink well for a few years. Day 2: this held up really well and is more integrated and rounded. I rarely like wine better on the second day, but I think this was better on day 2.

199 cs. made. At first PnP, then slo-ox'd 2 hrs. Fruit forward & balanced w/tart cherry, cherry preserves(on nose), cranberry, sherbert, baking spices, and later emerging notes of tea & a more herbal profile w/noticeable stem inclusion. Vibrant acidity, moderate tannins, mid-bodied yet rich, & soft silky medium finish. Approachable to consume now.

Pop-n-pour, medium garnet color. Tart red fruits backed up by a resinous pine needle and earthy component. Not exactly what I'd call "elegant" - full-bodied and almost viscous/sappy, but flavors are in balance and quite delicious, and this wine should be set for an interesting evolution over the next several years.

- Ruby color and aromas of cherry, rose, smokey and dusty. It's balanced with a medium body. Juicy texture with a medium finish - Decanted an hour consumed over two days - very bright and acidic fruit is prominent in the beginning but transitions into the more floral and earthy elements really good. This was even better on day two and really came together. This is good now but I think it will be really good in two more years definitely need to pick up a couple more to see where it goes.

Very elegant wine. Still quite young, took about an hour to open up. Nose of cherries, cranberries, nutmeg and perfume. Similar flavors on the palate, with red licorice taking the palace of the nutmeg. Light but complex, with nice acidity and a somewhat long finish. Looking forward to seeing where this goes with age.

Falltacular 2012 (FMIII in the OC): Of all the Keefer wine, this is my favorite. There is a nose of perfume and cherry which is enchanting. Palate is smooth and the finish is beautiful with great balance. One of my favorites.
