Completely different from the Brolio Chianti Classico I had some weeks ago (which was very oaky, almost New World style). This is more on the light side, unexpectedly light ruby colour, aromas of red plum, cherry and red fruit in general with some clover and a toasty hint. The oak is perceivable but not too strong. Body is around medium, you can feel the tannins on the tongue but they are quite delicate, giving more space to a crispy fresh acidity.
This is a great wine to drink with some meat sauce pasta or a not too spicy pizza and it can be also enjoyed lightly chilled in summer, but it is less intense and complex than other chianti classicos.

I purchased this wine after a visit to the winery. It is slightly behind the reserve but still a very very nice wine. Deep dark purple fruit with a nice finish.

Tasted non blind. Opened and served immediately. Followed over about 90 minutes.
Garnet color in the glass, clear looking throughout. Nose of flowers, berries and a bit of raspberries. Flavors of red berries, raspberries and a dash of red cherries on the short to medium finish. Bright acidity, medium tannin, medium body. Drink now.

cherries on the nose, bright, simple, palate carried by cranberry, cherry and spice, light, good amount of acid to make for a good meal wine, matched well with Chicken Florentine baked with chopped tomatoes

Bright cherry, cedar, hint of licorice and maybe crushed roses. Generally bright flavor profile. A little astringency on the palate. Overall, a good every day Chianti.

This is an easy drinking chianti with lots of cherry and strawberry fruit, fresh acidity, and no tannins to speak of. Great everyday wine for dinner or shaking off the days stresses.

Dark ruby, fairly thin. A pretty classic nose of ripe cherry, saline, tobacco, mushrooms, licorice and - sadly - rubber and some toasty oak. Medium bodied with juicy fruit and solid acidity. Vibrant and fairly refreshing but also somewhat uninspiring with its spicy sour cherry and licorice (and to some extent oak) dominated flavor profile. Long, dry, not totally clean finish. At proper temperature has that classic high drinkability, decent focus and great lift. When too warm, gets hot and disjointed. Didn't really match all that well with a slightly spicy sausage, tasting way too sweet. Overall a pretty mediocre CC that lacks balance.

P: medium finish, low acidity
Good example of chianti. A little weak for my preference.

Even with pizza this seemed underdressed for the occasion. Didn't expect Felsina quality, but other vintages in the past have had more to offer.
