Mature, slightly bricking with obvious deposit. Tertiary notes on the nose, sweet cherry, herbs, raisins with some stewed fruit. On the palate, raspberry, kirsch and dark chocolate. Noticeably hot finish. Fun wine, but close to the edge. Drink up.

Colour is dark ruby with somewhat restrained aromas of kirsch & minerality. Flavour is full bodied red fruit & kirsch with spice/white pepper, medium acidity & medium soft tannins. Finish is long & alcohol (14.5%) is noticeable.

A wine which has a beautiful nose with usual notes of guarigue raspberries and Provencal herbs, in the mouth the alcohol is still present (normal anyway for a c9p) the aromas are rather simple however but with a nice length in the mouth and a medium acidity. I don't see the point in keeping this wine for too long. It's good but I would not buy it if I see another 2010 on the shelves.

Very enjoyable CDP. Dark purple in the glass. Spice, and pepper on the nose. Pleasant deep melange of raspberry and blue fruits on the palate, nice body and mouthfeel with understated power. Plenty to like, and aging well!

Vin violacé, foncé. Presque noir.

Excellent!! La prochaine et dernière en 2018-2019.

Deep purple colour and nice long legs. Nose of pepper, and garrigue. Round taste, berries, garrigue, and long pepper tannins. Rich and warming, this is signature CNdP to me.

Lots of savory, rich mourvedre fruit on the nose. And that follows through on the palate as well. The sister is married to a Brunier of Telegraph.
They due thier own grafting and own planting, and they co plant everything. The thought is oddly, when you co plant the grapes come closer to ripening at the same time I am being told. So this is significant to them. Full on biodynamic as well.

Second Sunday Group: 2000 Bordeaux (R&D's): Aromas of lavender and red fruit, white currants, violets and licorice. Nice balance on the palate- structure, fruit and acid are all there- featuring flavors of pepper, red fruit, garrigue, spice and florals. 92+ pts.

Finally an old school CnDP . This wine is a bit of throw back and reminds me of what CnDP used to be circa 1990-2000. You will not find heavily extracted obvious fruit and port like characteristics but rather a traditionally made, terroir driven, highly drinkable food friendly wine with structure and elegance. This is a huge surprise. The score is high, but unapologetic.

Bright and rich purple in color. Aromas of sweet black cherries, violets, lavender, some tree bark and black olive. Complex aromatically but it clearly needs time to develop. Firm, grippy tannins are met with tangy acid in this full-bodied wine. Rich but also balanced. Love the dusty black cherry and currant fruit, laced with pepper, clove and olive tapenade flavors. Bold and age-worthy, but showing a lot of personality right out of the bottle.

This has really improved since I had it a year ago. Then it was too acidic. Now, with an hour of decanting, it's complex without being over the top. Tastes like Provence. Herbs, garrigue and berries.

Trialto Old World Classics Tasting: Clean and straightforward. Very dark in colour. Nose of raisins, prunes, blue licorice, alcohol. Palate is rich and mouthfilling with a touch of heat. Is it well made? Yes. Do I like the style? No.

Decanted for 1 hour. Too acidic to drink on its own at 1 hour. Better w/ food. At 3 hours achieved better balance, allowed the fruit to come through. Nice structure, good flavor profile. Decant 2+ hours or wait on this.

So far, Beaurenard’s line-up has been impeccable, and it continues to be so with its regular Chateauneuf cuvée from this strong vintage. Made from a blend of Grenache (70%) and the rest of equal part Syrah, Mourvèdre and Cinsault, this gorgeous wine has an impressive nose of smashed red spices encircling plenty of dark berries. Its body then goes onto some even more complex flavors on the pallet, inserting a woody note of light almond. I adore it because it’s controlled while being complex and full. 91+ points

Mums

Plums, raisins, cherries. Some tannins but quite smooth. Very nice. Definitely aged well. Might get better still and reach its peak in a year or two.
