A good bottle of wine, but I’ve had better from Occhipinti. A nice acidity makes it friendly to pair with a wider range of foods. Seems light. Red fruit on the nose and palate. Balanced. Good finish. Tastes Eyetalian. A Louis/Dressner import.

Delicious and charming. I was enjoying the company in which I shared the wine and didn't take notes. It did not demand attention, but every time I took a sip, I was pleased. Fruity and easy, but with just enough restraint. My non-wine-geek companion enjoyed it as well.

I largely share the impressions of the last two reviewers. This is a perfectly pleasant wine, with nice cherry fruit and notes of orange peel early on. I enjoyed the lightness and drinkability. That said, it is rather simple and one note, and I don't think it's really worth the price tag. Occhipiniti's pricier wines may justify their cost a bit more, but, for me, there are more interesting loires and beaujolais out there for significantly less than the SP68.

Medium purple color. Bright and lively right out of the bottle with a dark fruit and floral profile on the nose and palate. High acid, low alcohol made this wine easy to drink and was very good with the food we paired it with. If I had a complaint it was that it was a bit simple but otherwise I liked this wine.

Ruby colored. Quite aromatic upon opening. There are some nice creamy raspberry, orange aromas, but unfortunately these disappear pretty quickly leaving a more simple cherry smell. The palate isn't as good as the nose as its lacking some concentration. I detect some fizziness here too. Light bodied with great acidity. I think I'm focusing on the negatives because I was expecting more from this wine. Overall it's still very pleasant, but for my money there are better Beaujolais that are similar in style, but cheaper. Not a rebuy.

quite bright, sweet fruit but with a herbal/spicy edge, floral lift too, there's actually a fair bit going on here, actually a tad Beaujo-like, good astringency (grippy) and acidity, not bad at all for a Nero d'Avola (perhaps the Frappato helps?), very drinkable, seems better colder, I would expect this quality at the price, I would buy again I think

Beaujolais expression (maceration carbonique?) as from pure gamay or a passetoutgrain, but on palate also some "dolcettic" austerity and jura minerals, nice acidity and fine tannins. Extremely high drinkability and perfect for tonight's corn-fed chicken with red pesto, parmeggiano and tagliatelle

Decant this sucker! Pop n' poured the first glass and the intense, medicinal grape smell was completely overpowering, but a couple hours later, everything settled down. Food friendly with a silky mouthfeel, but although the "grapeyness" receded over time, it persisted in crowding out some of the floral aromatics and other flavors that I sensed were there but were held back.

An intensely grapey aroma -- reminded me of concord grapes....roses and violets in there on the nose too. Palate was more complex, with spice and cedar underneath the fruit/flowers. Good structure with good amount of tannins on the finish. The concord grapiness seemed to intensify with air though, and by the second glass, this grapey sweet smell was too intense and I couldn't finish the glass. Will try the bottle again tomorrow. Second night returned to the bottle and WOW! a completely different -- and better -- experience. Wine had a gorgeous and completely distinctive burned caramel nose...the concord grape had transformed into a lovely burned dark sugar smell. Fruits still in there but much less forward. Distinctively delicious. The tannins were also much more integrated. Definitely understanding the Occhippinti buzz now...
