A perfect summer white. 90 degrees in NY. Sitting by the pool of our good friends, this did not disappoint. Not the most sophisticated white but, very enjoyable.

2013 Rhone Rangers - The Best of The Rhone Rosés: Pale golden color with aromatic stone-fruit, mineral, and spiced honey aromas. On the palate, it's approaching medium-bodied, crisp and dry with white peach, pear, mineral and a bit of citrus flavors. Medium-long finish.

Light golden color; nose of peach, honey and slight bit of minerality; bright, crisp, tart on the palate, primary flavors of light citrus, grapefruit, peach and honey; medium plus finish; really nice acid throughout.
Consumed over the course of two days and both days were very consistent. Second day mellowed everything out just a bit but the basic body didn't lose anything. This wine is so very food friendly and is a pleasure to drink. My favorite is that there is little to no oak taste and that it had a really great coating in the mouth.

Review featured in the San Francisco Chronicle: The Chronicle Recommends: Grenache Blanc http://www.sfgate.com/wine/wineselections/article/The-Chronicle-Recommends-Grenache-Blanc-3674610.php
2011 Two Shepherds Saarloos Vineyard Santa Ynez Valley Grenache Blanc ($24, 13.8%): This new label takes its Grenache Blanc very seriously, with indigenous yeast fermentation and aging on lees in old oak barrels on some well-chosen fruit from Los Olivos. There's a terrific mineral edge to the pistachio and bergamot aromas, with brightness to match the ripe, pear-like fruit. A full texture that shows what makes the grape so appealing.
