Mark's Rose Offline - part deux (Passione Vino): Very juicy and vinous - like a mature red Burg from a cooler vintage, but thinned out (that's not a pejorative!). Long, herbal, with a touch of smoke and some bite to it.

Wasn't sure how this would show having given up on them 2-3 years ago when they were quite astringent and disjointed. The wine has really come into its own now though. Absolutely delicious, classy red fruit with lovely balance and harmony. Good persistence on the finish. Shame I only have 1 left now!

Over the hill. This has not developed, but rather degraded and oxidized - the fruit is gone and it has lost all semblance of freshness. Unfortunate as this had real potential to age.

Likely beginning its decline. Still quite enjoyable with dew laden wild berries, fresh green herbs, and savory spiced florals. Wet slate and fading acidity hold onto the finish. Time to drink up!
This was a step below my other recent experiences, the fruit was dropping out and it was borderline oxidized... Hoping my one remaining bottle has held up better.

Goodbye to Izzy & Rachel (and Meyer!) (Domaine Wine Storage - Chicago, IL): A bit of a letdown when I think of the heights this has reached in the past. Definitely had some banana yogurt tones on the nose...very tropical and creamy. The palate wasn't as exotic as the nose and kinda reminded me of mushy cranberries, and raspberries. The acidity was a bit flat...just disappointing.

Still going strong. Fresh and balanced aromas of dried wild raspberry, citrus rind, and potpourri. Focused and medium bodied on the palate, with layers of cool red berry fruit over saline and chalky minerals. The finish lingers with tart cranberry acidity, savory dried herbs, and violets. Quite delicious, and likely will continue to improve in the short term.

Keith's note nails what makes this such a striking, remarkable rosé; it's bright, delicate and refreshing as any good rosé should be, but the textural refinement and sense of polish here are something else. It's absolutely delicious to drink with gentle florality, fresh strawberry fruit and saline notes on the back end, and the elegance and texture here have me coming back after each sip.

Vivid and interesting nose of tart, cool red fruit, mint, spice, and savory herbs. Medium bodied and similar in profile on the palate with waves of red berries, morning dew, and chalky minerals. Fresh green herbs, and tart cranberry, and orange rind complicate the lengthy finish. Really superb rose, with a few years of cellar potential.

Fresh red berries and flowers, good acidity, fully dry. Fairly long finish with some stony minerality and something vaguely like raw snap pea coming out. Refreshing and delicious, with some complexity too.

Blind Wines at Tim's (Tim's House - Chicago, IL): One of the finer roses I've had. Nose of rose petals, some truffle, and cool strawberry fruit. The palate was really nice. Sleek, refined and elegant...this rivals Tempier and Baudry for the finest Rose from France.

Nice pink/salmon color, Nice aromatic nose of strawberry, ever so light herbal and banana. Light mouthfeel and body, refreshing, light berry and melon flavors, strong acid bite and desert dry. Does have a touch of heat on the end. Overall, this is touch light for me, I like fuller bodied rose. It is well made and really nice. Not the best QPR, def paying for the name.
This got better as it warmed, I recommend serving at slightly under cellar temp, say 50 deg. F. I also recommend decanting this. It got MUCH better after 2 hrs.

Perfect rosé, in fact better than a perfect rosé because it delivers everything you crave in a rose with an extra kick of refinement that you have no right to expect from *any* rosé. My first thought was "is this actually made from Clos des Lambrays fruit?" I don't know why they would, but I can't recall ever having a rosé before that exhibited that wisp of silky, lacey tannin characteristic of a fine Burgundy on top of the usual rosé attributes -- here the mild variety that goes down as easy as rosewater and makes you wish they would bottle this by the keg.

Rosé très aromatique au nez, avec ce qui semble des arômes de levure, de banane très mûre et de fraises. En bouche c'est plutôt bonbon, rafraichissant mais assez mince. J'aime les rosés plus vineux....pas mon style!

Superb rose. Fruit fading, but mature earthy notes starting to come through. I wish I had more of this to see how it would be in another year.
