  • My brothers favorite of the night. Nice nose of cherries and loam. Lots of fruit, cranberries, cherries, strawberries, and some spice with a little riverstone notes. Nice mouthfeel with a fairly long finish.

  • Horrible, corked?

  • PnP. Really nice cherries and some earth on the nose. Less expressive medium intensity fruit on palate than 3 years ago and sense of complexity was low, making me think this is not getting better. Acidity is serviceable but not elevating.

  • Opened this tonight to watch Top Chef and the Dodgers game. This is rocking and rolling...the nose is very CA Pinot with crancherry, spice, and earth with a little crushed wet rock and cola/beet root. The palate is full bodied but not heavy, with crancherry, spice/pepper/grapefruit, orange peel, wet rock...medium length finish...really digging this Pinot Noir. It is still drinking very young...nicely balanced.

  • I should have waited 2 years. starts almost syrah like that settles down after 30 mins of air. cranberry, rhubarb, cola...nice.

  • Medium-dark red. Ripe, bright strawberry and cherry on the nose with a bit of alcoholic heat. Medium body, ripe fruit on palate, good balance but alcohol pokes through a bit. Medium finish smooths out some, very good, drink up.

  • Very cloudy. Impressive nose of cranberry, meaty, clove, mushroom and forest floor. Crisp on the palate but verging towards overly tart. That tartness continued on the finish. This was a good showing but lacked the balance of previous experiences. Not sure if this was a lesser bottle or the start of a slide.

  • No formal notes. My experience is similar to others, sweet red and blue fruit with citrus and spice. A very nice drink. No reason to hold.

  • Heredia Vina Gravonia, 02 Siduri Rosella's, 06 Eric Kent, 93 Ridge Pagani Ranch (Rockridge): Didn't really need it but Traci wanted a glass while cleaning up after Paella night. Drinking very well. Still dense raspberry/cranberry fruit, typical Rosella's grapefruit/pepper/earthy spice. Enough acidity to carry this a few more years easily. Very tasty! Will check back tonight.

  • The nose shows an interesting mix of sweet blackberry, browned sugar and baking spice balanced by cranberry, a bright earthiness and forest floor. Supple, sweet berry, grilled meat and cranberry on the palate. Citrus and wet stone on the finish. Overall the tart fruit and citrus elements balance out the creamy sweetness. This wine has developed well and is at peak.

  • Cola mouthfeel with nice acidity. Cherry, concentrated cranberry and a little bitterness on the finish. Very good.

  • Tough call. This started off gangbusters. Nice cherries and smoke and gunpowder on the nose. Each taste revealed a different flavor. It sure went down easy but maybe got a bit more dominated by acidity as the meal went on. A darker flavored pinot. We got the citrus/grapefruit flavor towards the end (hour or two in decanter) which I really like. So the bottle was consumed very enjoyably but...thisisn't my favorite Siduri. Am I equivocating-possibly. really good but not memorable.

  • My last bottle, added to the Parker BB 2002 Pinot virtual tasting. Some funk, forest floor and some pepper on the nose. The palate has a sweet profile, with some blueberry, sour cherry and cinnamon, as well as some signature Rosella's citrus acidity. Finish is a little rough still so let's see how it goes in 2 hours.

Open now just less than 24 hours. Nose shows some heat, some baking spice (which I don't recall often on a Rosella's pinot?) and a note that I'd call 'stemmy' but I can't think that is right so I'll stay with a peppery kind of thing. The acidity in this wine is quite prominent, very much more in the fore now than on opening. Distinctly pink grapefruit in style, with some sour cherry and plum behind it. Zippy yet soft, probably ready to go.

  • Fabulous nose of cherry, cinnamon, buttery chocolate caramels, damp forest floor and a pleasing hint of citrus. Smooth, fat mouthfeel with a vibrant finish of tart cranberry. Lacks just a little depth and interest on the palate. Not quite as good as the last bottle. Drink over the next 1-2 years.

  • floral scents, little funk but not much, grapefruit/citrus and some spice

nice silky smooth mouthfeel with a solid acidic backbone. red fruits, grapefruit, and hints of cola. I wasn't expecting this as I tend to find that more in RRV wines but it is there nonetheless. More spice that lingers into a medium finish.

    nice enjoyable wine

  • Cinnamon or spice on the nose for me. Cranberry flavors in the mouth. Good stuff as usual.

  • Seemed zippier and less layered than I noted on the last bottle. But this is still on point.

  • Very nice, but a little too big and over the top. Maybe needs time?

  • This wine is moving towards peak. Shows a ton of nice Rosella's acidity, with a nice beam of citrus. The somellier where we ate said he got cola on the wine. Hmm, not a note I have often associated to SLH but me thinks he was right. Along with some red fruits and an earthier style, this wine is drinking pretty well.

  • We had this (with seared scallops with corn and Basque chorizo) just in front of the Pride Cab Franc (with beef tenderloin) and it clearly packed more pleasure even when paired with the beef. Garnet with some purple. Nose initially cherries and showing zippy acidity on the palate. Over time this wine became wildly expressive and interesting. On the nose came a profound earthiness with underbrush to pair with the cherries and now strawberries, flowers, and cola. Not quite riveting, but certainly captivating. The palate was full of fruit and food-friendly acidty and had a long complex finish. Exceeded my expectations.

  • (Tasted from a bottle opened 24 hours earlier – 1/3rd remains) Very cloudy, ruby / brown – very strange. Very ripe red berry, cola and sage nose. A bit milky and certainly spicy. Different, but enjoyable – this will be full throttle. Gorgeous, full, sweet berry flavors that (unlike the Siduri tasted last week) is very enjoyable and under control. Very rich and dense – almost like a reduced liquid that somehow stays in balance. I can not drink this all the time, but I very much like it! Funny - looked back at my note and this really is a "very very" kind of wine:) (17.5)

  • Great wine, some floral (violets) and blackberry on the nose, followed by a well-balanced experience that got better over time. The wine had zesty fruit that paired extremely well with the Armadillo Willy's brisket and BBQ sauce---sounds white trash, but the SLH fruit goes well with BBQ. Wine confirmed for me that Rosella's is an exceptional vineyard that has duration and complexity...and a credit to Siduri for not showing too much too early.

  • Drank with the '87 CDS guys. Adam does it again. Consistently great wine with great fruit. Hoping to hold on to my big bottle for my 40th!

  • Starts with a very pure dark cherry and cranberry, a glimpse of damp forest floor, an undertone of boot polish and those Siduri Asian spice aromas. Nice volume in the mouth with forceful cherry and raspberry fruit, and a hint of vanilla on the mid palate. The finish has great balance with crisp acidity and bright fruit. Nothing jammy or over-ripe here. This wine betters most of the $80-$200 03 Burgundy I tasted last weekend. It will be interesting to watch it age.

  • Not sure what to make of this. The nose is very closed. The palate started off nice with cherry/cranberry, some spice, good acidity and no alcohol or oak to speak of, but with a couple of hours of air it shut down considerably. The fruit became less evident and tart and the acidity was a little disjointed. Overall the wine is a bit simple and it may be in a closed phase. I will wait another 6 months to a year before opening my last bottle. The '02 ROAR I opened a few nights ago was drinking much better.

  • Garnet appearance, with root beer and cherry nose right off the bat. typical Rosella's, feminine and supple, with fresh bright sweet cherry cola and cran/razz berry, with a hint of pine. A little acidic and has no tannins to speak of, but has a mouth watering finish. A very nice, bright wine, if a touch simple.

  • I really enjoyed this Siduri - better balanced, more restrained than many I have had. Beautiful nose of cherry, wonderfully balanced acid and fruit. None of the hot, alcohol finish that one can often find in a California Pinot. A truly enjoyable wine that is drinking very well right now.

  • This opened up with a rather funky but interesting nose that took some time to blow off but later revealed typical red Pinot fruits. On the palate it started with cranberry as with my last bottle but after some time in my glass opened up with some very nice sweet flavors. Balance is good with no oak or alcohol issues and still showing definite grip. The finish is balanced and clean, showing more cranberry on the end. I'd still prefer to find a bit more complexity in this wine but I am certainly well satisfied.

  • Deep opaque garnet/purple but not black or inky, fresh but unremarkable nose. The fruit on the palate is all about cranberry with the trademark Rosella’s vibrant acidity and a fair amount of remaining grip that really accentuates the sense of cranberry on the finish. There are no problems with oak or alcohol and the balance is good. It’s definitely not a large-scaled as other California Siduris I’ve had which brings it more in line with my preferences. It should be a very nice wine with food. My only critique is that I think it’s a bit on the simple side but the fruit is nice and it’s a completely enjoyable drink. Drink now if you like or wait, there’s no hurry. I don’t think it will fall off a cliff with some age but I don’t see it transforming into something much greater, either.

  • At Ristorante Tuscany in Palm Desert with Leslie, Mike and Nancy. Hit of the evening, "Sidori" on the restaurant list. Spicy bouquet with a fresh cherry-laden palate, relatively focused and long on the finish. I could drink a lot of this.

  • Nice nose of cherry pie and clove. the palate was sweet, ripe and round. nice complexity out of the gates, forest floor, pine needle, red fruit and cola, good mouthfeel but felt a touch sweet to me. Nice wine, but may need time, not showing much in the way of complexity / nuance yet like most Siduris do...
