  • Drinking this after a 03 Pontet was nice. Although not as full-bodied and balanced of course, it reveals typical American Pinot Noir fruit that has something very seducitive... this wine is on it's peak and so it's hard to keep it cellared.

  • A little shy out of the gate, this opened up well with a half-hour to breathe. The nose combined the fresh-picked sweet black cherry notes so common in the wines of the Nuits with the roasted character typical of the big Russian River Pinots. On the palate the expressive fruit was tempered with high acidity and moderate tannins, well integrated in a harmonious effort. The finish is a bit short or it would score even better. This made a nice companion to a dinner of country-fried pork chops with a side of wilted spinach, sauteed artichoke hearts and prosciutto.

  • bright ruby / pink; lovely black cherry fruit, some mushroom on the very voluptuous side of pinot; beautiful, pure pinot attack – nice sweetness of fruit – the black cherry / blackberry is dominant again on the pallet – with a bright acid verve that initially masks the finish, yet with time blows off to reveal a lovely, integrated new-world pinot. Surprisingly good - for those who like Cali fruit and old-world back bone. Only real flaw is the lack of finishing depth. (16.5)
