Mid red. Soft fruited aromatics - red berries and green herbs. Some gentle sweetness on the palate. Complex still, and there is good depth to the fruit, which richened up in the glass and became more juicy. Some tannic dryness on the end. This is very good, if not inspiring, and the fruit is just starting to fade a little. Likely better five years ago. Bought on release.

Clear. Clean. Developing. Black currants, paprika, ripe fruits. A fine balance between the fruit sweetness and the almost volatile acidity in the finish. Firm, with lots of fine tannins. Medium+ length in the finish.

Much much more acidity than fruit. In fact, more capsicum than fruit. Not the best Joguet I have tasted, and a disappointment considering 2002 vintage was good overall. I consumed over two days, and overwhelming acidity burying fruit was consistent both days.

Still dark red, nose a bit closed, with sharp acidity and tart cherry and subtle raspberry, clean palate with crisp finish. Throwing some sediment, drinking well now...

Dumb on the nose but lovely cherry fruit on the palate . Very youthful though and some firm backbone tannins in there - will be saving my other two for a while.

Ruby red with a slightly fading rim. Peppery herbal nose at first then opening up with cassis and olive aromas with floral, spice and earth undertones. Fresh, current and herb flavors with nice concentration and crisp acids. This is still very youthful. Finishes with some dusty tannins that need some time. Try again in 3 years.

$50 restaurant price. Moderately firm acid structure, with no green / herbal notes showing. Though not overflowingly ripe, quite generous with red/black cherry fruit. This is a very enjoyable bottle of Chinon that, judging from an impressive '96 I opened last week (see TN), offers good mid-term aging potential...

Misc wines at MGs place: Quite developed but also anonymous. Nice acidity and youthful with powerful tannins.

Past its peak, but still drinking. Paired with barbecued salmon and quinoa - all good

Fun cumin spicy tones. Not as much fruit as the clos du chene vert. Quite dry and still could use time in the cellar.

Domaine Charles Joguet (Sazilly): Complex fruity bouquet.
Will be wonderful in about five years.
