  • This was a very pleasant, polished Barolo. Very nice on pop 'n pour, but best on day 3. No rush to drink these, but I'm not sure how much more improvement can be expected with continued aging. I wonder if the polished style of this wine has clipped some aspects of aroma and flavor from reaching more complexity and intensity? I think so, but still very enjoyable.

  • Has developed rusty red/brown rim. Dried cherries remains, but leather and tobacco aromas/flavors have emerged. Not fully integrated, but getting there. Maybe a few more years in the cellar?

  • Delicate aromas. Flowers, dark frui, some vanilla. Well-balanced on the palate. Just the right amount of acidity in the context of dried fruit and softened tannins. Tar come through on the finish. Great with food.

  • Strong dark fruit core, but with very high acidity and tannins. Will benefit greatly from additional time in the cellar.

  • This is a clean wine with a pale intensity, tawny colour.
This wine is clean and developing nose with medium intensity in aromas, where the over ripen plum and black cherries are highly remarkable, following aromas related to oak, like cedar, and strong earthy mineral like character, some lavander notes and lactic notes with covering aromas to eucalyptus.
In the palate the wine is dry, high in acidity, with high coarse tannins, high in alcohol and medium + in body. The acidity is extremely mouthwatering and refreshing where the herbal and oaky note develops along with the black ripen fruites.
The wine can be drunk now however the strong acidity will lead you to a cellaring potential time from 8 to 10 years.
    Finish medium plus
The quality is very good once the wine enjoys a really good balance in alcohol, the acidity is high enough to uphold such potential as long as the tannins and alcohol. However it lacks of aromatic intensity and complexity as well.

  • The wine is clear and bright with a pale tawny colour and presence of dense legs. The nose is clean and developing, showing medium+ intensity aromas of cedar, cinnamon, kirsch, anise and hints of lavender. The wine is dry in the mouth with a medium+ acidity. It has high coarse tannins and a medium+ alcohol. It has a medium+ body and medium intensity flavours of kirsch, cedar, cinnamon, anise and hints of lavender. The finish is medium.

It is a good quality wine with a decent complexity provided by oak ageing and floral notes and a nice balance between acidity and alcohol. However the finish could be longer and the fruit concentration more pronounced. Can drink now, but it has enough tannic and acidic structure and some fruit concentration to develop a bit more of complexity in the next 5-8 years.

  • Tight as nails upon opening and stayed that way for most of the day. So lay down in the cellar.

  • at a free wine tasting of the winery at Eat's in Milan. Very young classic barolo with vivid tannins and some good oak and violets in the background. Fresh acidity and a medium-to-long length. Wait a few years.
