This wine is good. I feel like that bears stating at the outset given than someone actually called it “maybe the worst wine I’ve ever had.” What a luxury that would be, if it were true. Is it acidic? Not really especially at this point, but thankfully enough to have aged a bit with some grace. Does it have fruit? It has plenty, and it’s not f’ed with by lots of oak and is starting to develop some nice secondary characteristics now. Could it have aged further? Definitely, but perfectly ready to go now. Is it amazing or revelatory is any way? Not really. It’s a nice, but not super remarkable wine that I certainly enjoyed but would not consider great qpr.
Don’t believe the extremist views of this wine on either side. This wine is normal. This wine is good.

Lovely nose of dark fruit, pepper, spices, violets, and a hint of smoke. Well integrated tannins with good acidity and more dark fruit and flowers on the palate. Very long finish. What a beautiful wine! The best Donkey & Goat we've had so far.

Opened and poured into glasses at cellar temperature. The nose goes between high toned balsamic vinegar, black fruit, savory spices, and hints of cocoa nib. Really fascinating stuff. On the palate the acidity is wonderfully present and upfront, and the fruit seems more on the red spectrum. Some savory meat flavors emerge with air too, and the balsamic notes come into play. Definitely works great with food, and the tannins are nicely drying but never too much. Might benefit from another few years.

Some interesting flavors but a bit tart right now. Fruit is lacking. Hopefully that will change with time. It does seem to have the structure to age. My fingers are crossed because I have several more.

I really wanted to like this wine because the vintners are local. However, 97 points WE? Really? On a 300 point scale? This wine can be summed up in one word - ACID. Where's the fruit? I couldn't find any. A drunk, one-legged man with vertigo has better balance than this wine. I found it undrinkable and unfortunately I have another bottle. Seriously, this wine makes grapefruit taste like chocolate caramel molasses. Guess I'll try it again in a few years and just hope that something magical happened in the bottle. Maybe the worst wine I've ever had.

Violets and blue/black fruits on the nose. Some savory-ness and olive tapenade as well. Blue/black fruits on the palate, and this is clearly new-world. Acid was a little low for my liking. Very good mouthfeel but the finish was a bit clipped. Good, not great.

Syrah, co-fermented with Viognier. Cherry, pepper and herbs on the nose. Flavors of cherry, plum, pepper and garrigue. A clean and classic Syrah with a long finish. Nicely done in a Northern Rhone style.

Very disappointed after hearing great things and buying three bottles on a special offer...will save the other bottles in the vain hope that they improve over the next five year. One note, soft finish.

Poured after being open for about 30 minutes. On the nose, loads of violet and black cherry, peppercorn, earth, and a black olive type thing. Great acidity and texture. I loved how the ripeness was balanced by the acidity and firm tannin. This still has years to go to reach peak.

Still not a fan of this. Tart. Extreme acid. Muted fruit. Little hope for my remaining bottles. Sadly.

Sadly, definitely past prime at this point. Nose is still quite beautiful and the attack is decent but it falls apart almost immediately after that.

Major bottle variation! A prior bottle was rough and fairly harsh. This bottle is smooth, with medium weight and light acidity.
