Not the same level as the 2010, which had more punch. This is more 'suave' with a more pronounced wood influence as well, in the nose but sensible in the mouth as well.

13.5% alcohol. Good long cork with uneven wine penetration. The colour is thin, close to translucent. Complex nose with forrest floor and dried red berries; some leather too. In the mouth, the oak intrudes a bit at times, but not enough to destroy the refined harmony supported by perfect acidity. A vg Burgundy in a somewhat old style.

Slightly darker than 2009, it is expressing some complexity right now. Spicy, earthy, dark cherries, prunes, hint of oak with a good minerality. Very classic burgundy, not the most feminine though. Quite expansive nose and palate. Wait 5 more years to see how it develops. Already approachable now, good value.

Domaine Bertagna Tasting with Eva Reh (Yono's Restaurant, Albany, NY): Bright raspberry nose. Big, rich, tart, jammy cherries. Needs 5-10 more years to reach maturity, but already somewhat complex now. 92-94

Beautiful Pinot, velvety and with a great, youthful minerality. Very elegant!
