Delicious. Savory red fruit with slight browning at edges from a well stored bottle bought at auction. Nose of aged pinot. Elegant, and integrated flavors. Let stand upright for a week before opening. Cork in good shape and came out clean. I love the lower alcohol, old School Oregon.

Fading at the rim, with a whiff of volatile acidity on the nose which quickly yields to strawberries. On the palate I get strawberries followed by a little tea and somewhat coarse tannins for a pinot. I mark this down to average because of a slight burnt rubber taste on the palate. Not a flawed bottle, but certainly nothing I would serve to guests.

Nice and well resolved. The nose is present, not reticent but not overwhelming; the mouth is quite nice, with dirty twigs and fried red fruit and a good sense of balance. The length is moderately good, with the same fruit making up for the slight lack of persistence. Bonus point(s) for being old and being a nice surprise. A treat.

Tasted November 10, 2007 at an offline. Nose of black cherries and black berries. Flavors of black cherries and black berries. Medium to high acidity, medium to firm tannins, medium body. Drink or hold.

The nose starts out very nice with lots of good Pinot funk and twang, some definite twigs and berries. The palate however was light and reticent, not much to speak of. With a few hours of air it did improve to show nice notes of cherry and balsamic strawberry. Never overwhelming, just a clean, pleasant Pinot.

1999 Pinot Noirs; 1/14/2006-12/31/2006 (All over the map...): I liked this one more than either the '99 Canary Hill (which seemed a bit more unresolved) or the '99 Carter (from yesterday, which was faulty, and hence probably not relevant...) This wine was open for business, if a bit unfocused, with riich tastes and aromas of flowers and red fruit, something that I found lacking in the Canary Hill. This wine also had a better length than all of the other KW's from the past few weeks, and a palate-lingering quality - not quite length, but lingering. I liked it now, and would probaly liek it more in another year. This one does have the stuffing to persist.

Typical Oregon profile - fruit cake nose, earthy, bright cherry in the mouth. Medium/light bodied and elegant. Still very young and Burgundian.

Pinot Noir Tasting (Meo Camuzet, Flowers, Hansel, Cristom...) (Zoot Restaurant): Good stuff. Cardamom, dark cherry, coriander and roasted meat on the nose. Red fruit (most noteably cranberry) and cedar wood on the palate. Nicely balanced and has many years left in it.
