This needed about thirty minutes of air to clear out some musty notes and come together. After that the nose still struggled a bit with some nutty and mushroom nuts. The palate on the other hand is impressive. Light golden color. Complex mix of white peach, pear, nuts, biscuit with great balance and excellent acidity. Overall a very unique worthwhile aged sparkling wine.

Better than my previous bottle in December of last year: this bottle seemed to have more freshness and be better-put-together. Nonetheless, nothing particularly exciting going on --- just a solid sparkling Chenin that has aged nicely. This is more in a "relaxed primary" stage than it is a tertiary stage. Best to drink now and over the near term.

Very similar to wetrock's impressions of 4/19/19, although I think wetrock likes it more than I. Seemed a bit loosely-structured; gentle, aged notes; lacking energy.

A marvelous bottle of sparkling wine. Yes, a hint of oxidation. Rich, toasty, not a ton of acidity, but very well balanced with the fruit. Really worked for me. I am hardly the expert in such things, but this one will probably not keep for very long.

Straw color coming out of the bottle and showing a bit of oxidation in the nose. Lovely mousse with some typical Chenin fruit and plenty of acidity to keep it fresh. A bit toastier than is our preference but a lovely bottle of sparkling Chenin nonetheless.

Not a fan. Tasted like the wine was oxidized but the light color wasn't what you'd expect for something truly oxidized. Not much fruit and had a very clipped/short/bitter finish.

Light nose showing some straw. Maybe a hint of oxidation. Clean and fresh. Not a ton going on but very clean. I was impressed by this one, especially for it's age. A sparkling Chenin that even I could drink. On my radar.

Light yellow color in the glass, tiny light beading. Nose of lime, quince and sea foam. Flavors of lemon, lime and orange. Bright acidity, medium to full bodied. Drink over the short to medium term.

Traditional method. Showing autolytic characters with ripe citrus and stone fruits, some maripan, Round, lightly frizzy, refreshing, quite intense palate. Excellent value.

Probably the most delicious bubbly I have had from the Loire valley. Not quite bone dry but full of life, tension, crisp moreish acidity and refined minerals at the same time as a certain tenderness and underlying roundness. Very good.

Ce mousseux ne cesse de m'impressionner. On dirait encore un jeune vin, charmeur, frais et doté de finesse. Excellent.

Still a great sparkler. Rich, oxidative, toasty; has a unique personality. Liked this a lot. But I enjoyed the one that I had in 2019 more.

Can’t be faulted for being pleasant but lacks both the depth and the energy anticipated when popping the cork.

A good example of the style, just a little bitter on the finish.

Plus un vin de repas que d’apéritif. Fines bulles et notes riches et toastees qui témoignent du millesime. À boire plutôt rapidement je pense

Extremely rich with almost cotton candy-like evaporation in mouth. Seemingly softer than the 2002 vintage.
