Drinking over about an hour it really hit its stride. What opened as a nose of barnyard dung and palate of acidic dull red fruit turned into forest floor, mint, wet leaves, black cherry, couch syrup. Light bodied, medium + acidity but it really has no direction and overwhelms the mouth - it does make for easy drinking forest berries, potting soil, blueberries, dark chocolate.

My note is curiously different than others here, so take it as you will. This bottle showed heavy oak and little more. I would guess a $5 Rioja from a tank winery. I hope this is an off bottle rather than what money does to the Jura, but I doubt I’ll bother to find out soon. Poor.

Wine Group Jura Tasting (Easy Bistro): pale garnet with amber rim; red berries, sous bois, florals, a bit of baking spice; blend of 60% Pinot Noir, 35% Trousseau, and 5% Poulsard; 12.5% alcohol

C initially thought perhaps too tart and acidic but came around to it. I loved it from the start... great red fruit, fresh, crisp, tart. Delicious and went down easy with day 2 of the nfl draft.
Pale garnet, bright; delicate wild strawberries, then an Attractive earthiness springs up; soft & earthy, backed by marked acidity which provide vitality, lightweight, intriguing. Fades on finish. Very drinkable but lacks real presence.

At Charlie Bird in NYC - This was fantastic. Each component of the blend showed individually and in complement with the others. The mineral zing and light red raspberry of the trousseau and poulsard played counterpoint to the earthier/sous bois and dark red fruit of the Pinot Noir. Other tasting notes highlighted the acidity, but to me, it was well balanced. Very interesting, beautifully perfumed, and totally drinkable with both meat and seafood.
Will try to find a few bottles for the cellar.

Light ruby, like looking through rose colored glasses. Nose has cranberry, pine needles, burnt orange zest and wet stones. Huge acidity, tart and tightly wound up with light weight. Cranberry and red currant, minerals and light mint on the palate. Finish a little rough and moderate in length. Needs food given the high acidity. Probably better in time but as it sits right now, not a very good QPR in my view.

PnP blind, it was recognizable as Jura if just for the funk. Others at the table physically recoiled on first sip. I'd serve this to wine geeks, but not at a dinner party. More interesting than good on the first day. With 2 days of airing this actually calmed down a little, but still...

Clear, light-ruby color. Primary/secondary aromas- bright red cherry, mulled spices, chamomile tea, pine needles. The palate showing tart cherry flavors, saltwater taffy, sweet spices, and hints of mineral and earth notes. Medium-light in body, racy acidity, elegant tannins. Juicy finish. Lots of treble in the mix on this one.

2014. Very impressive suave, sappy, velvety Pinot that brings to mind Volnay and tangy punch from Poulsard. Maybe it's Burgundifying Jura, but I'd be lying if I said I didn't think it was absurdly delicious right now. This is showing even better than when we first tasted it with Liz. Hoohwee.

Ekstremt tiltalende Pinot-drevet duft.

Very hard to read and to like tonight. Sharp, high acid, almost sour finish. With about 30+ of air it showed more fruit but not the succulent and delicious quality of bottle from a few months ago. More trousseau than Poulsard or Pinot today. Either an off bottle or the wine is shutting down.

Fresh, succulent, high acid, nice balance. Interesting blend--with Pinot and poulsard showing strongest. Definetely added depth and breadth with air so would let rest for year or two for best result, but happy and approachable drinking now.

Very light Ruby. Balanced, but definitely leaning toward the acid side. Over four nights we slowly discerned maybe a touch of creaminess trying, and still trying ... to peek through. This is very Jura in character, although it is not oxidative in the least. It would be quite interesting to see what this is like in three or four years -- but at this price, I doubt we will purchase more in order to experience it.

Lett avslepne tanniner, ukomplisert vin.
