From magnum. Crystalline burgundy color, and a precise Sonoma nose. Drinking well, not showing any premature ageing, though it may be plateauing. Perhaps some more evolution over the next couple of years, but probably time to start drinking these.

Last bottle from this vintage. In OCNJ with family, porchetta, roasted potatoes and salad for dinner. Splash decant, drank over an hour.
Notes from 2020:"Medium ruby, translucent. Nose showing red fruits and floral/rose petal notes. Palate of bright red fruits, plum, strawberry, mild spice, black tea. Medium weight, light/elegant texture. Medium finish" Consistent with these notes - some in the group thought it was a little thin...one has to like the style. Understated and elegant wine. Core fruit is delicious with velvety texture
Still drinking well, would drink up over the next few years

Opened, poured into a decanter, and then enjoyed over 4 hours. Grassl Cru glass. Ruby garnet color. Floral nose, opening up to show some spice and sassafrass notes. Light red berry intro with some herbal elements and brown spice. The floral notes weave in and out. Good acidity. Enjoyable.
Branded cork; no vintage or vineyard.

Reductive on opening. Really needed about 1.5-2 hours of air to open. Once it did very earthy and savory on the palate with nice darker fruits and a pop of fresh acid.

Black tea, rose hips, spice and mint on nose - great bright clarity and long finish - tart cherry, cranberry and vivid minerality - drinking perfectly now with more legs left

Good chance to check back in on this, last bottle was 3 years ago. Bottles purchased at release, in my cellar since. Decanted through a vinituri, drank w Val over 90 minutes.
Medium ruby, translucent. Nose showing red fruits and floral/rose petal notes. Palate of bright red fruits, plum, strawberry, mild spice, black tea. Medium weight, light/elegant texture. Medium finish
Still drinking well, not much movement (from memory) since last bottle. Probably has a longer term arc than I would have guessed from last bottle...very nice

A lighter garnet color. Cherries, spice, and some earth on the nose. Well balanced with nice acidity and crisp red fruit. I think another year or two will improve, soften, and generally make the wine more interesting. Nice wine that is drinking well now, particularly after some air. Good stuff.

Cherries and other red fruits. This is supple and an extremely nice rendition of Pinot. This single vineyard is more floral than the Hirsch reserve and I detected a stronger cherry scent. Both are wonderful wines.

Eye: red, ruby Nose: Cherry, pomegranate, sandalwood, spice and earth Palate: black cherry, plum, mineral and earth with medium + acidity and medium + finish.
Overall I'd say this wine just entered its window and currently has great balance and sufficient material to lay down for another 5years. It was lovely tonight and a pleasure to drink. Enjoy!

Pop and pour and initially tasted with food (home made Kuy Teav with beef and rice vermicelli, in case you were wondering) and then followed without food for about 3 hours. Bright ruby color; fairly clear. Nose of sour cherries and fresh raspberries; some fresh cut hay notes too. Bright acidity with red berries (cranberries and fresh raspberries) with a light floral note and some pine sap. The zippy acidity keeps this inviting. Not entirely expressive with fruit or savory qualities but still an enjoyable wine.

Cherries on the nose with a hint of earth. Well balanced with good fruit on the palate and a nice long finish. Not too expressive at the moment though. Fine tannins and acidity could see this through to the other end. Worth revisiting in another year.

Lovely, elegant nose set expectations that palate couldn’t deliver over the course of several hours. Very tart, perfumed, mouthwatering. Long, drying finish. Needs time to come together.

With Ted and Meg in OCNJ, followed an Anam Cara Oregon Barrel Auction 2014...opened and slow oxed for about 30 minutes.
Consistent with prior notes, this is a well made, elegant wine drinking beautifully now. Should continue to drink at this level for at least 3-5 more years...great stuff from Hirsch

Dinner with Manoj and Neeta at Blue Bottle, I brought this one along. Opened at the restaurant about 30 minutes prior to drinking.
From prior notes: "Medium ruby color. Nose was elegant, red fruits and floral notes. Bright, sweet red fruits, plums, strawberry. Medium finish, elegant and smooth texture."
Picked up more floral notes this time (from memory), bright red fruits, elegant with good energy. Texture and elegance of this wine is noteable. Great now, should continue to improve. Really nice vineyard designate from Hirsch.

I only had one bottle of this specific wine, so figured what the heck, let's open it. What a lovely wine. It had all the elegance I could want in Pinot Noir, with lovely fruit and earth tones, as well as an underlying tannic backbone that would (if I had more) carry it through a number of years in the cellar. I very much liked the balance, and will order more of this next vintage.

Medium ruby color. Nose was elegant, red fruits and floral notes. Bright, sweet red fruits, plums, strawberry. Medium finish, elegant and smooth texture. We were commenting that this was the "king's wine"...the best of the bunch that we tasted...
Really nice now, but I think this will be even better with a few years of bottle age. Giving it a good decant now if you must drink....

Bright crisp acids, tea and berries. Light & lithe but with a long finish. Some years left on them.

Similar profile from previous tasting with less plum on the nose and a slight bitter cherry note after several hours.
